beatles tour

Hello, today we learned about the Beatles and here is the blog hope you learn something new from it.

So many people liked the Beatles music but some people didn't and people who liked their music was mostly young ladies and they loved Beatles music because they were the first singer that sang about love, sex, drug and those kinda stuff and that's the main reason why young girls were going crazy.

People who didn't like their music was old people because they didn't really understand them and they thought that the Beatles should not really be singing because they thought that they are going against religion and stuff they thought they are singing and going to hell.

Thanks.

Respect

Respect

Respect is a positive action shown toward someone. we all should show respect to everyone by listing to them or not talking while they are talking and there are so many other ways to show respect or good manners.

The ways that you can show respect:

  • Honouring peoples opinion.
  • Good manners
  • Magic words ( Thanks, Please)
  • Caring for every living thing.
  • showing consideration to other elders, parents, friends or teachers.
Respect is one of Hornby high schools CARR values and every student should show respect In this class ( ESOL) and In the school.

Beatles ( Social studies )

Name of the song: Hey Jude.

The lyrics:

Hey Jude, don't make it bad.
Take a sad song and make it better.
Remember to let her into your heart,
Then you can start to make it better.
Hey Jude, don't be afraid.
You were made to go out and get her.
The minute you let her under your skin,
Then you begin to make it better.
And anytime you feel the pain, hey Jude, refrain,
Don't carry the world upon your shoulders.
For well you know that it's a fool who plays it cool
By making his world a little colder.
Hey Jude, don't let me down.
You have found her, now go and get her.
Remember to let her into your heart,
Then you can start to make it better.
So let it out and let it in, hey Jude, begin,
You're waiting for someone to perform with.
And don't you know that it's just you, hey Jude, you'll do,
The movement you need is on your shoulder.
Hey Jude, don't make it bad.
Take a sad song and make it better.
Remember to let her under your skin,
Then you'll begin to make it
Better better better better better better, oh.
Na na na nananana, nannana, hey Jude...
(repeat X number of times, fade)

About The song:
The ballad evolved from "Hey Jules", a song McCartney wrote to comfort John Lennon's son, Julian after Lennon had left his wife for the Japanese artist Yoko Ono. The lyrics espouse a positive outlook on a sad situation, while also encouraging "Jude" to pursue his opportunities to find love.

Creative writing( Show don't tell)

BEEP, BEEP, BEEP

It was early in the morning and the alarm went off and the alarm was loud as lightning. All I saw was fire and I felt the fire on my face, I heard my mum shouting '' Get up and go outside '' as soon as I got up I took my phone and I jumped out of my window. Our house was a two-story house and it was big as a football field and it was the best house we could live in.

Show dont tell

The buildings were tall.

The buildings were touching the clouds.

Sarah was really upset.

As she left the room she slammed the door shut.

She was happy to see him.

she couldn't stop smiling while she was running to give him a big hug.

The lake was beautiful.

The reflection of the lake was shining like a star.

ANZAC

Hello everyone welcome back to another post on my blog and In the past week in SOST class we have been studying world war 1 and ANZAC and what happened during this time and what soldiers go through.

1-When do you hear this song?

This happened on Anzac Day- Sunday, 25 April( Monday )

2-Why is this song significant/important to New Zealand?

We remember what New Zealand and Australian soldiers go through and how hard it was for them and even how some of them passed away during world war 1. The song has a strong theme of shared fear in combat.

3-What is the History behind the Last post - Why was it played and when?

It played on ANZAC day on 25th April and its really important because new Zealand and Australian soldiers served their lives for their country.

4-What does this song represent?

We remember those first Australians, who joined and fought and died … We remember the fighting First Australians – now – and on every ANZAC Day. The song has the strong theme of shared fear in combat and, afterwards, shared scars and terrors and rejection of the black soldier by the RSL.

Parihaka

Parihaka:

The lyrics of the song:

My friend, My friend, I hate to see you suffer
Events conspire to bring us to our knees
My friend, my friend, you've taken this the wrong way
Rise up, defend yourself, never give in
Look to the sky, the spirit of Te Whiti
The endless tide is murmuring his name

I know Te Whiti will never be defeated
And even at the darkest hour
His presence will remain
I'll sing to you the song of Parihaka

Te Whiti he used the language of the spirit
Then stood accused, the madman and his dream
He saw the train go roaring through the tunnel
He heard the voice travel on the magic wire
But he loved the silence of the river
He watched the dog piss on the cannon's wheel

I know Te Whiti will never be defeated
And even at the darkest hour
His presence will remain
I'll sing to you the song of Parihaka

One day you'll know the truth
They can't pull out the roots
Come and take me home
To weep for my lost brother
They gather still, the clouds of Taranaki
His children's children wearing the white plume
So take me for the sins of these sad islands
The wave still breaks on the rock of Rouhotu
And when you taste the salt that's on your pudding
And when you taste the sugar in your soup
Think of Te Whiti, he'll never be defeated
Even at the darkest hour
His presence will remain
I'll sing for you the song of Parihaka
Come to Parihaka
Weep for my lost brother
The spirit of nonviolence
Has come to fill the silence
Come to Parihaka

The main message of this song is to bring awareness to the tragic events that occurred to the people in Parihaka.

The lines "I know Te Whiti will never be defeated, And even at the darkest hour" are evidence of their determination to never give up.

This shows the significance of Parihaka by speaking about Te Whiti and how brutal this event was and the troubles they went through. It also shows how many people were affected.

"His children's children wearing the white plume" explains their passive resistance method.

The line "You can't pull out the roots" refers to their ancestors that brought them here and the history that has occurred on their lands.

Bullying

Hello everyone today in health class I did a blog post about Bullying and how bad is it and how it makes people feel and what to do when you get bullied so hopefully you will learn something new from this blog.

1-Why do some people bully?

Because they think ist ok to bully other kids and they think they look cool when they bully people and they don't really care how other people feel.

2-Why some people are most likely to be bullied?

Because they don't stand up for themselves and maybe because they are scared.

3-Why bullying is harmful?

Some people think that bullying is a part of growing up but bullying makes people feel unsafe, unhappy and lonely, bullying makes people lose confidence.

4-What can you do if you are being bullied?

You talk to them and sore it out or tell an adult like your parents, siblings, teachers, coaches and they will help you out, If you are getting bullied stand up for your self don't let them bully you or letting them to be mean to you.

5-What can you do if you see someone else getting bullied?

Talk to them and tell them to stand out for themselves and or tell someone older that can help them out.
