Aim: to test if a sample of food contains complex sugars.
Hypothesis: I think that they going to change color
- Glucose -I think that it will change color.
- Apple - I think that it will change color.
- Potato - I think it will not change color.
- Bread - I think it will change color.
- Egg - I think it will change color.
- Milk - I think it will not change color
Equipment:
- Test tube
- Sodium Hydroxide
- Copper Sulfate
- Sample of Food
Method:
- we have to put about 2 ml of the sample food in the test tube.
- Add 5 drops of sodium hydroxide.
- Add 5 drops of copper sulfate.
Result:
All of them changed color, accept milk. Egg, Bread, glucose, Apple, Potato changed color so all of these are complex but the didn’t change color so it’s not complex.
Secondly, our teacher tests if apple, potato, egg, milk, sugar has protein or not.
Mik and egg change color to purple so egg and milk has protein but the rest of that change color to blue so they haven’t protein
Conclusion:
The milk didn’t change color it means I was right.
