Term 1 Summary

 

Hello, guys today on this blog ill explain what we have been doing. In the first 7 and 8 weeks, we worked from a slide(a Slide that Mrs already made for ESOL class). Some days at end of the period we play Kahoot. on week 10 we did a blog about respect and a blog about a cultural celebration and I couldn't finish that on time but I finished it the next day. I have learnt a lot during these 12 weeks and I really enjoyed this class, sometimes it was boring but most of the time's it was fun. 

Culture

 In the kete Celebrating cultures, I created a poster and I drew about My country (Afghanistan), My religion(Islam), Some Afghani patterns idea’s from google and on it. First I wanted to do Something with clay but I changed my mind and I did a poster. It went really good and I’m really happy with it but next time I’ll do more drawing about my culture.

As I gazed up to the sky I saw a Tiny house swimming around the sky and  I was like ‘Wow’. The clouds were nearly touching the roof of the house. For a moment I thought I was dreaming but after I rubbed my eyes and pinched myself  I believed that it is real and its actually a house floating with clouds around the sky. The house had 4 windows and a door and one of the windows was so Little. Through the Tiniest window, you could see something shiny as a star but I couldn’t tell what it was. While I was thinking about how a house can just fly and swim in the air, I heard a bird singing and I looked around and I still couldn’t see the bird till I Took a peek at the house. The bird was colourful as a rainbow and I just couldn’t stop looking and listening to it. I stared at the bird for a long time till his friends came and he just flew with them and left the house to float by itself.

It seemed like The house belongs to a woman, a women that love art. Because I could tell by the graffiti around the whole house. And wet clothes were hanging from the balcony. 

During the time that the house was going higher and higher in peace, it started to get rainy and windier. The gorgeous blue sky turned to a dark and scary black and the wind was pushing the house away from me. At that moment I was nervous and scared and at the same time, I had to do something to help the house from getting destroyed. The house started to fly and move quicker and quicker than I thought it would fly and I tried to run faster to follow the house but Suddenly the house got a stroke by strong and powerful lightning. The house got ruined in pieces. I was shocked I couldn’t believe what I just saw. I felt bad for the Tiny house but at the same time, I was Sad. I looked up to the sky and saw a door on fire falling on me. I start screaming and It was about to hit me that I heard my mum saying Wake up Hasan, Wake up you are always later for school.

Who is Bob Geldof?

Robert  Frederick Zenon Geldof is an Irish singer-songwriter and political activist. He was born on 5 October 1951, He was born in Dun Longhair. He was married to Paula Yates from 1986 until they divorced in 1996. They had 3 daughters together.

How was he involved?

He helped to organise the Live Aid and Live 8 events, and to form the Band-Aid charity group.

who is midge ure?

Midge Ure was born on October 10, 1953, in Scotland as James Ure. He got married to Sheridan Forbes on July 15, 2003, They have three children. He was previously married to Annabel Giles. He is a Scottish musician, singer, songwriter and producer. 

How was he involved?

The song is the second highest-selling single in UK chart history. Ure co-organised Band Aid, Live Aid and Live 8 with Bob Geldof. He acts as a trustee for the charity and also serves as an ambassador for Save the Children.

Ramadan

Ramadan

As a Muslim, We celebrate Ramadan once a year for Thirty days and during these thirty days, we don’t eat from sunrise to sunset. And It also spelt as
“Ramazan” and in the ninth of the Islamic calendar which is Tuesday 13th April till Wednesday 12th May we fast. we wake up before sunrise and eat and that’s called “Sahari”. We pray five times a day during Ramadan if you don’t pray your Fast won’t count if that makes sense.

These are the names of five prayers:

Fajr – the dawn prayer. It is two Rakat Salah.

Dhuhr – the early afternoon prayer. It is four Rakat Salah.

Asr – the late afternoon prayer. It is four Rakat Salah.

Maghrib – the sunset prayer. It is three Rakat Salah.

Isha – the night prayer. It is four Rakat Salah

What’s not allowed during Ramadan?

1. Swimming

2. Eating

3. Drinking

4. swearing or lying

5. smoking 

6. Arguing or fighting

7. Listening to music

Anti -Vietnam war song

 

Hello everyone today we learned about the Vietnam war in social studies class and this blog is about a song and the message of the song. I added the lyrics to my blog from the ST Lyrics site and hope you learn something new from this post. Thank you and have a great day. 

Mostly this song is about the Vietnam/American War and I think the main message of this song is promoting the negativity of the war and how bad it is and encouraging people to not go to war for example the Lyrics " What are we fighting for?" This means that there is nothing good about fighting and Let's stop fighting
